Kojic acid is found mainly in some species of mushrooms native to Japan and is a product of fermented Japanese rice wine. Kojic acid is approved as a certified organic ingredient in cosmetics. In addition to the skin brightening effect, kojic acid is considered an antioxidant. Presentation: Coloured crystalline powder, slight vegetable smell, soluble in water. Use in cosmetics: the usual recommended dosage is between 0.2 and 1%.
